Brett Maurer
Serves as Chief Executive Officer and is the founder of Highland Commercial Roofing

Brett started in roofing working part time loading shingles and tearing off roofs for a residential contractor in Monrovia California while still attending high school.  He went on to attend University of California at Los Angeles, but never left the roofing industry.  Brett worked through college as foreman and superintendent for California’s largest commercial roofing contractor, gaining experience working on a variety of commercial, industrial and government projects with a wide range of products.  After 12 years, Brett left to found Highland Commercial Roofing and since 1991 has methodically built Highland from a small local company into a regional force in the southwest with three offices, serving five southwestern states.  Brett is actively involved in operations and future business development for all Highland locations

Brett is very involved in the betterment of the roofing industry.  He is a term past president of the Southern California Roofing Contractors Association, a past president and current board member of the California Roofing Contractors Association where he serves on the safety, insurance, and legislative committees.  Brett is also an Executive Board Member of the National Roofing Contractors Association, where he serves on the technical specifications committee.
     
  Rick Cunningham
Serves as the President of Highland Commercial Roofing

Rick has over 26 years of experience in business management, marketing and sales in the construction industry.  A graduate of the University of Arizona, Rick came to the roofing industry after working in advertising and industrial food commodities sales.  Rick served as general manager of a large Southern California commercial & residential roofing contracting company for 13 years.  He was president of a real estate development company that built custom homes in the Orange County California area for 4 years, prior to joining the Highland Commercial Roofing team in 2005. 

Rick has overseen the growth of Highland from a well established local contractor into a regional force in commercial roofing in the southwest, with three offices serving five southwestern states. Rick oversees day to day operations and sales for all Highland locations and is responsible for marketing and long term strategic planning for the company.   Rick is a member of the Institute of Roofing, Waterproofing and Building Envelope Professionals and the US Green Building Council.
     
  Chris Sheridan
Serves as Executive Vice President of Operations and Controller of Highland Commercial Roofing

Chris has over 19 years of experience in construction business and operations management.  A graduate of the University of Arizona’s school of business management, Chris’ skills were honed and tested during his 5 year tenure as onsite project business manager for the third largest general contractor in the world.  Chris was responsible for several public works infrastructure projects, building Metro Rail lines in Los Angeles and surrounding communities.  Chris moved to the roofing industry and spent 6 years as the operations manager and controller for a large regional commercial & residential roofing contractor in Southern California.  He left the contracting side of the business and joined the largest roofing supply company in the country where he served first as branch manager, but was quickly promoted to northwest region district manager where he was responsible for the operation of twelve business units producing over 100 million dollars in annual sales.  Chris joined the Highland Commercial Roofing team in 2009 as our controller and also oversees operations for all branch locations.
     
  Greg Pender
Serves as the General Manager for Highland Commercial Roofing – Arizona

Greg has over 24 years of experience in the roofing and construction industry.  After serving his country for 7 years in the Navy Seabees (Construction Battalion) and achieving the rank of Petty Officer Second Class, Greg entered the roofing business and worked for 4 years as the operations manager for a top tier roofing contractor in San Diego.  Greg moved to Phoenix and started his own roofing company which he successfully ran for 4 years. He sold his company to take a job with a national roofing manufacturer as their western regional sales manager for their commercial roofing systems division. Greg joined the Highland Commercial Roofing team in 2007 and oversees all Arizona operations. 

Greg is a member of The Roof Consultant Institute with a certified designation of Registered Roof Observer (RRO), and board member of the Arizona Roofing Contractors Association.  Greg is also very active in NAIOP Arizona where he is Co-Chairing the 2010 Golf Committee and a board member of BOMA Greater Phoenix where he is Chairman of their Golf Committee and Lunch & Learn Committee.  He is also involved with BOMA of Greater Tucson, NAIOP Phoenix, and the Arizona Multi Housing Association. 
     
  Todd Bender
Serves as the General Manager for Highland Commercial Roofing - Northern California. 

Todd has over 27 years of Commercial Roofing and Waterproofing experience.  A graduate from Ohio University, Todd's skills cross all segments of the roofing industry; Manufacturer’s Technical Representative, Project Manager, Estimating, Production, Regional Sales, National Sales, and Regional Operations Management.  Todd spent 2 years as a Roofing Manufacturer’s technical representative after graduating from college in the Northeastern United States.  For the next 8 years he worked in sales for a Commercial Roofing and Waterproofing Contractor in Connecticut, working on projects in Connecticut, Boston and New York. After moving to the San Francisco bay area, Todd spent 13 years with a National Roofing Contractor as a top performer and regional manager working throughout Northern California and Hawaii.  Throughout his career Todd has been involved in over 175 million dollars worth of commercial roofing projects for manufacturing, commercial real estate, Department of Defense, commercial office, and light industrial projects nationwide. 

Todd is a member of BOMA of San Francisco and the San Francisco Chapter of IREM. Todd joined the Highland Commercial Roofing Team in 2009 to oversee our Northern California operations.
